GENERAL CURRICULUM

Trinity’s mission is to provide a rich environment for young children to grow intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically under the continuous guidance of experienced and nurturing teachers.

Curriculum goals include helping each child:

  • with the transition from home to school
  • develop responsibility and independence
  • learn the importance of understanding and following directions
  • learn to interact appropriately with others
  • explore and learn new skills by discovery and repetition
  • think and plan for him or herself

At Trinity, your child will spend mornings in structured activities that combine learning and play in a welcoming environment. Children are encouraged to explore materials that will further their skills as well as their understanding of themselves, their peer group, and their world.

Trinity teachers utilize the Pennsylvania Department of Education Learning Standards to plan Language Arts and Reading Readiness activities, Social Studies, Math, and Science concepts.

Music and gym classes are taught by Specialists who work with the curriculum needs of each age group. Children in Extended Day classes are offered a weekly Spanish lesson.

We bring in musicians, puppeteers and animal shows to both entertain and educate our students. Older students go on field trips to pumpkin farms, the Adventure Aquarium, the Elmwood Park Zoo and more.

At our Open House in the Fall, teachers discuss their schedule of activities along with curriculum goals and special upcoming events.
